When the Way Forward Isn’t Clear

What do we do when the shape of our business no longer fits?

There are moments in a business journey when something quiet yet undeniable starts to surface. This isn’t at the beginning, but further in. The shape you’ve been moving in begins to stretch. The old systems, the ways of working that carried you this far, start to feel too tight. Not broken, necessarily. Just… no longer true.

This isn’t failure. It’s the edge of something new.

For those of us building businesses in service of wellbeing, community, and planet, these moments can feel especially tender. We’ve invested deeply in our teams, in our values, in our ways of showing up. And so when the ground shifts, it can feel like we’re losing something. But often, we’re being asked to make space. To clear away what’s outlived its season. To reconnect with the root system.

We wrote last about how growth moves in cycles, and how not everything has to be in bloom to be alive. This is the part of the cycle where we pause. Where we look honestly at what’s working and what’s asking to be reimagined. Sometimes it means standing in the quiet, surrounded by pieces that once made sense, and asking: what do we want to build now?
Not out of urgency. Not out of habit. But from alignment. From care. From the freedom that comes when we stop forcing something to fit and instead, begin again with everything we’ve learned.

This is how we regenerate.
